Gas reimbursements for self transport
This office still can reimburse for self transport to the VAMC facilities in Grand Junction for scheduled appointments that we can not provide rides for.
There has been a change in how this program is funded now, so checks cannot or will not be automatically refunded.
New grant funding sources require that payments are through the county and that each veteran will be assigned a vendor status for payment. With that status, the vet will have to fill out and return a W-9 for tax purposes. The W-9 will only be used if the reimbursements reach the federal required income limit. Otherwise, it will remain in each vendor file.
Craig Veterans Clinic still pursuing site
The VAMC staff is Grand Junction still is pursuing a site and RN’s. The goal still is to be up and operational by the end of September. I will pass on info as soon as I receive it.
