Two travel to soccer camp
Craig — Sherilyn Stoffel and Brittany Rummel, players on the 12-and-under team, recently returned from a soccer camp in Denver put on by members of the U.S. Women’s World Cup Soccer team.
“The camp lasted five days,” said Stoffel, 11. “It was called the Julie Foudy Soccer Camp. In the camp we worked on a lot of turns and a lot of shooting. We also did a bunch of other stuff.”
More than 300 youth soccer players attended the camp.
Brittany Rummel said the camp was a good learning experience for the upcoming season.
“They gave us autographed balls for going to the camp,” said Rummel. “We learned a lot of soccer moves and the soccer players were pretty nice.”
The Storm will start play Saturday Aug., 28 on the road against Rifle.
The Victory Motors Cancer Drive saw another successful year raising money for the Moffat County Cancer Society over the weekend, surpassing $100,000 in donations.
