Two transients arrested in Craig: On the Record — Tuesday, Feb. 13

8:30 a.m. Officers responded to a sex crime. They determined it was out of CPD's jurisdiction.

11:40 a.m. On the 300 block of Stout Street, officers responded to a possible case of domestic violence. A caller said he or she let some friends stay at his or her home after the friends were kicked out of their home in Grand Junction. The caller said all they do is fight, and they refused to leave. The caller wanted advice from an officer. An officer visited the residence. The visitors were both arrested. The male, a 35-year-old who gave a Craig address, was arrested for dangerous drugs on a warrant out of Mesa County. The 48-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant from the Grand Junction Police Department for driving on a suspended or revoked license.

2:39 p.m. On the 700 block of Colorado Street, officers responded to a suspicious vehicle. A caller reported seeing someone take belongings from a vehicle and said it appeared they were about to tow the vehicle. A report was filed.

3:41 p.m. Officers responded to a Safe2Tell call, an anonymous reporting hotline for youth.

4:32 p.m. On the 600 block of Colorado Street, officers responded to a reported threat. The caller said people were on their way to beat up his son. Officers contacted the mother and son and told them to call if anyone unsavory showed up. There were no follow-up calls.

5:03 p.m. On the 400 block of Walker Street, officers responded to a reported disturbance. A man said another man attacked him on his property, then left in an older, extended-cab pickup. The alleged attacker was holding vice grips at the time he attacked.

5:32 p.m. In Craig, officers responded to a sex crime.

9:03 p.m. On the 900 block of West First Street, officers responded to suspicious persons. A caller said that a neighbor saw people snooping around the trailer park. The neighbor said he or she saw two females. One went to the back of the trailer and another to the front. Officers went to the home and contacted a woman, who had permission to be there. Later, officers ran the 38-year old woman's name and found she had a warrant from another agency for failing to appear in court for a traffic violation. She was arrested.

9:34 p.m. Officers responded to a mental health issue.

10:03 p.m. Officers responded to a reported drunken driver. It was found to be a mental health issue.
