Three arrested on drug charges

Christina M. Currie

One Craig adult and a juvenile were taken into custody Aug. 16, after they were found to be in possession of methamphetamines. Another juvenile was released into the custody of his parents.

Kenneth P. Morgan, 27, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule-two drug and contributing to the delinquency of minors.

He was booked into the Moffat County Jail.

The juvenile was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule-two drug.

According to a GRAMNET (Grand, Routt and Moffat Narcotics Enforcement Team) agent, the three were intercepted by a Moffat County Sheriff’s deputy responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle.

“We learned the three individuals were allegedly involved in the use of illegal narcotics, I.e. methamphetamine,” the agent said.

A third juvenile involved was released into the custody of his parents because he had made it home before GRAMNET officers arrived on scene, the agent said.

None were found with a significant amounts of methamphetamine, but the agent said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.

Morgan’s case was scheduled for a status hearing at 3 p.m. today.
