Thom. Schnellinger: A letter of congratulations from MCHS principal

Thom. Schnellinger is completing his last year as the principal of Moffat County High School. He's served as principal for six years and served as assistant principal three years prior.
Noelle Leavitt Riley

A new chapter in your life is opening. The pages have not been written. They are awaiting your hand and pen. I can only offer these few words to you. Do not limit yourselves. The whole world and everything that it has is there before you.

Take the risks, step out and be the best that I know you can be. Consider others before yourself, think about others before yourself, and help others before yourself.

Your parents, family, friends and teachers have brought you this far. But now it is up to you. Don’t be fearful. Step out. As Winston Churchill said, “Success is not forever, failure is rarely fatal, but COURAGE is everything.”

Be COURAGEOUS, challenge yourself go beyond your fears and confront this world head on. I offer my most heart felt best wishes and congratulations. All the best to the Class of 2014!

Sincerely yours,

Thom. Schnellinger, Principal
Moffat County High School

Schellinger will read the following at graduation, as it has meant a lot to him, and he hope it will resonate with the graduates and community:

Anyway

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.

Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.

Do good anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous.

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.

Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.

Be frank and honest anyway.

People favor underdogs but will follow only top dogs.

Fight for some underdogs anyway.

People may need help, but may attack you if you help them.

Help people anyway.

What you spend your years building may be destroyed overnight.

Build away.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.

Give the world the best you have anyway.
