The parents of Moffat County Dawgs All-Stars: Great job, Dawg

— To the editor,

The parents of the Moffat County Dawgs 11- and 12-year-old all-stars would like to say thank you.

Thanks to the community of Craig for its well wishes and words of encouragement for our boys during this wonderful season, and thanks to the Craig Daily Press and the Morning News for your coverage of the team and their accomplishments.

Thank you to City Market and Safeway for your donation of bottled water for the state tournament.

It was greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all the grandparents, aunts, uncles and extended families who traveled to Steamboat and Colorado Springs to cheer the team on.

A special thanks to Rich Sadvar and Jr. Herndon for your help with the boys individually and as a team.

And a special thanks to coaches Larry Maiolo and Steve Ivers – you both did an outstanding job with the team, and your love for the game and for the boys is obvious, and thanks to Sheldon Greenwood for being our own personal cheering section.

Sheldon was injured before the district tournament, but he was present at every single game even as far away as Colorado Springs, and we were all so glad to have him there.

Most of all – thanks to our boys: Trent, Tony, Josh, Jake, Carlos, Wyatt, Derek, Taft, Aaron, Matthew, Brentten and Ivan.

We are so proud of each and every one of you and all that you accomplished.

You may not be the state champions this year, but you will always be our champions. You did your best and had fun doing it and that is all us parents could ask for.

This year was a huge stepping stone for Moffat County baseball and we see good things to come in the future.

Thanks again to everyone and we hope to see you all next year on the field.

P.S. Our District 3 Champions banner is hanging at Rich Sadvar’s office. Stop in sometime to take a look.
