The Moffat County Football Parents: Lots of thank-yous

We would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the residents of Moffat County for everything they did to make our 2004 football season such a success. It wasn’t just the act of one business or individual, but it was a team effort by all our wonderful fans, players, coaches, cheerleaders, dance team, trainers, band members and parents.

Thank you to our fans. It was wonderful for all of us to see the stands nearly full at every hometown game. And what a show the boys put on for us at those games. At most away games, our stands were nearly half-full. At some games we had as many fans there as the hometown team did. What a thrill for the boys to know that people traveled such a long distance to see them play. There were even fans there who did not have any children playing. We can not thank our fans enough for the wonderful support they showed our team all year long.

Thank you to the coaches for all their hard work during the season and the rest of the year. These men take time away from their families to work with our football players. This is becoming a year-round job for these men. They devote time to camps, the weight room and practices. They have done an excellent job, and we appreciate all the hard work they do.

Thank you to cheerleaders, dance team members and trainers. Thank you to the band and the Bulldog mascot. He kept us all entertained! The band added a lot of spirit to every game, and we enjoy having you there. We know each and every one of you put in a lot of hours practicing and getting ready for every game. Thank you!

Thank you so very much to all the businesses across town. David Pressgrove and the Daily Press have been awesome in their coverage during the football season. The Elks Club collected donations from businesses across town so we could afford to send the boys on a bus to their football camp in Laramie in June. Moffat County Courthouse and the Moffat County Commissioners planned the tailgate party. Mountain Meats, City Market, Safeway, Boyko and Pepsi donated the food. The Craig Lions Club donated the use of its trailer. The Bank of Colorado, the Craig Daily Press, Duran and Pearce Contractors and Master Works Mechanical donated 100 tickets for the game against Niwot. Thanks to all the businesses that participated in decorating last week. The town looked great! It was awesome to see everyone pull together and show their support for the 2004 Bulldog football team.

Last but not least, a big thank you to all the parents who helped with team dinners and decorating. McDonald’s donated drinks for team dinners. B& B Welding, Airgas, American Northwest Realty, and M.J.K. Sales and Feed Inc. donated items to help decorate town, Finley Lane and the stadium. If Niwot wasn’t impressed with all the decorations across town, we sure were!

Our 2003 football season was really good, our 2004 football season was even better, and now we are looking forward to next year. We can’t do it alone. With the continued love and support of everyone in Moffat County, we can’t be beat.

Thank you again for everything, we love you!
