Moffat County Board of County Commissioners to consider changes for hiring professional services
CRAIG — The Moffat County Board County of Commissioners will consider amending its policy and processes for hiring professional services prior to discussing a proposal for consultant services at its regular meeting, set for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Moffat County Courthouse.
The policy and processes for hiring professional services were last amended in 2014. If adopted, the new policy would make clear that professional services may be negotiated outside of the bid process typically used by the county when purchasing other services and goods.
After consideration of the new policy, commissioners will discuss a proposed public policy services engagement agreement that would see the commission pay a company $25,000 for training, guidance in developing a “database of community opinion shapers,” assembling a list of active voters and assisting in development of a budget and timeline for a public policy program for the county.
In other business, the BOCC will hold a budget hearing and decide on requests to hire personnel in the Road and Bridge and Weed and Pest departments. The board will also consider bids for cleaning services for the courthouse and the county extension office, as well as separate bids for cleaning of road and bridge and pest management facilities.
The BOCC will also receive updates from the Colorado River District and Northwest Colorado Health Communities that Care program.
