John Rossfeld, chief executive officer for The Memorial Hospital, was recently named to the Becker’s Hospital Review 2015 list of 50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know. According to Becker’s Hospital Review, the list recognizes “presidents, CEOs and administrators dedicated to advancing healthcare in their communities and are tackling the challenges of providing healthcare in rural or small towns with vigor.”

“John is a good fit for our organization and the community. We couldn’t be happier with the progress we’ve made since John joined TMH last January.” Board president Don Cook said in a TMH press release.

Rossfeld came to Craig as the interim CEO in January 2014. He was appointed the permanent CEO in July.

“This is very deserving recognition for John,” said Forrest Luke, board vice chair.

Becker’s Hospital Review selects leaders through an editorial process that includes consideration of several factors such as “awards received; local, regional and national leadership positions held; and their organizations’ recent performance. Nominations were also considered,” the release read.

Organizations also cannot pay to have CEOs on the list.
