The Flower Mine Gift Shop: Hickenlooper’s visit
To the editor:
A group of small businesses are encouraging everyone with a business to attend Gov. John Hickenlooper’s town forum in Craig. It will be held at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Colorado Northwestern Community College, 2801 W. Ninth St., Room 175. Let’s fill that room so full that they have to move the agenda out of the room and all the way down the hall.
We will be closing The Flower Mine Gift Shop for an hour so our employees and I can attend. We challenge other businesses to do the same. If you can’t attend, at least send some of your employees. Let’s tell Gov. Hickenlooper that we care about our communities and that we are close-knit communities.
Stop in at The Flower Mine Gift Shop and get your “Coal, It Keeps Our Lights On” sign. Let’s have one in every parking lot or window in the businesses.
If you are not able to attend, there will be a giant “Welcome” greeting card at The Flower Mine Gift Shop to sign with your personal message. Please don’t stay home and listen to it on the radio. We will have a much better impact if people show up. Don’t be complacent with things that are going on. It’s time to stand up and let your voice be heard.
This is our opportunity to get our voices heard.
