The family of Waylon Owens: A heartfelt thank you to the community

The family of Waylon Owens

The family of Waylon Owens would like to thank friends, family and community members, and Braydon Moya for his courageous act of going to the crash site – you are our little hero.

The family also thanks Sherry Moya and family for your 911 phone call and touching card. And the wonderful Craig emergency crews for such a fast response.

A huge thank you goes out to Owen and Kim Grant, Judy Bingham, Leonard Browning, Ronnie McElroy and the crisis team. You all did so many special things for us.

To Rick Caini for planting a tree in Waylon’s memory. Sarah and Crystal Walker for your generous act of kindness. To Delbert and Diana Knez – words cannot express our thanks. You were such a huge help in our time our sorrow. From the use of your motor home to all of your wonderful food and your many other acts of kindness you showed us. To Brad Poe and Chris Herod for doing the poker tournament and getting donations in Waylon’s memory. To all of the other family and staff of the O.P. Bar, thanks for all of your help. To all of the people who sent us beautiful flowers, caring cards, photos, food and made us CDs and poems. The many caring phone calls meant so much.

To the caring soul who left us an unmarked card, with a very touching note and a donation. You touched our hearts in a way we cannot explain.

To Waylon’s many, many friends young and old, you come in all sizes. Thank you for all of the memories and stories. You made us all laugh and cry. You honor Waylon with your tears. You traveled from far and near to be here (some on short notice) to say a final goodbye and pay your last respects.

To Ryan Essex for such a touching letter. Brian Garcia for your beautiful farewell to Waylon. To David Burns for your moving tribute. To Eddie Garcia, Nigal Aaberg and Jarrod Burns for your sweet hugs and support. Ian Aaberg for your long distance calls and sweet thoughts. Roy Butler for all of your unselfish acts. Kerny, Laurie and Lil’ Kerney Pipkin for being here with us all.

To the gentleman who owns the property where this happened. You showed such great patience. We can only imagine the torn feelings you must of felt. Thank you.

This community made Waylon’s services so very special. We thank each and every one of you. Craig is filled with such caring angels.

Kenny Thompson, Jean Plantiko, Tasha Plantiko and family, Ruth Allen, Vickey Shenk, Dena Garcia and family, Debbie Aaberg-Gross and family, Christine Shramck and family, Kerney Pipkin and family and Jennie Delgado and family
