Texas man dies in motorcycle crash

A 47-year-old Texas man died Sunday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash, the Colorado State Patrol reported.

The man was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle at 1:30 p.m. northbound on Colorado Highway 13 at milepost 59 in Moffat County. The motorcycle drove off the right side of the roadway and down a steep embankment.

The driver was ejected from the motorcycle, troopers reported, and the motorcycle continued down the embankment and over a fence.

The vehicle continued through a field and came to rest on its top in an irrigation ditch.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene

There were no other vehicles or occupants involved in the crash.

Troopers reported the driver was not wearing a helmet.

Neither excessive speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors.
