Tanker crash spills jet fuel, closes US 40 east of Hayden
HAYDEN — A fuel tanker carrying jet fuel crashed as it attempted to turn onto Routt County Road 51A off U.S. Highway 40 at about 3:20 p.m Friday. The tanker was flipped onto its side and began leaking jet fuel onto the highway.
U.S. 40 was closed in the vicinity of the crash, and traffic was re-routed via Routt County Road 37.
Colorado State Patrol, Routt County Sheriff’s Office, West Routt Fire Protection District and Craig Fire/Rescue were among the agencies that responded to the scene.

9:02 a.m. On the 1000 block of Sage Court, community services personnel in Craig responded to a code enforcement call. A resident was issued a verbal warning for a code violation.
