Superfood Tip: Pecans
Pecans are our last tree nut to be covered in the series. One serving is 19 pecan halves and provides 200 calories, 20 grams of fat (mostly monounsaturated fat), 3 grams fiber and 3 grams protein. Pecans contain 19 vitamins and minerals in small amounts but are loaded with antioxidants. They are also loaded with the cholesterol-lowering plant sterols that we covered a few weeks ago.
