Superfood Tip: Cinnamon
Cinnamon is a common spice used during the holidays. Besides being delicious and fragrant it is packed with many potential health benefits. Cinnamon is known to be an antioxidant and antimicrobial, useful to ward off winter colds and congestion. Cinnamon may be helpful with improving blood sugar, insulin activity and wound healing. It provides excellent flavor allowing for less sugar to be used. Try adding cinnamon instead of sugar to your morning coffee or breakfast. It is excellent added to nut butters, pancakes, yogurts or even smoothies.
