Superfood Tip: Brown Rice
Brown rice is the unprocessed version of white rice. It is considered a whole grain because it has the outer bran intact.
Brown rice offers more protein, three times more fiber and significantly more minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc than white rice. Because processed products are usually “enriched” there is no difference in B-Vitamin content.
Brown rice definitely packs more of a nutritional punch per calorie versus white rice. Don’t waste your calories! Make every bite nourishing by choosing more nutrient dense options.
