Superfood Tip: Avoid sugar in your coffee

If you’re looking for an easy way to decrease your caloric intake throughout the week, try eliminating sugar from your coffee each day. That includes sweeteners, sugar-packed creamers and sweet coffee drinks.
One tablespoon — or one cube — of sugar has 48 calories. If you put two cubes or tablespoons of sugar in one cup of coffee, that’s almost 100 extra unwanted calories. Imagine if you drink two or three cups a day with that amount of sugar — it equals a lot of calories.
Try drinking coffee black or just use milk and eliminate the sweetness.
Also be mindful of sugary coffee drinks at coffee shops. A large frappuccino at Starbucks has between 400 and 600 calories, depending on which one you order, according to Starbucks nutritional information found on its website.
