Super Food Tip: Ground flax seed

Ground flax seed is great for adding a nutritional boost to some of your meals, baked items and smoothies. It is affordable and accessible even for rural residents such as ourselves.

It contains B vitamins, choline, many minerals, fiber, protein and heart-healthy fatty acids. All of this nutrition is packed in the 1-tablespoon serving size and 35 calories.

It is important to choose the ground flax seeds or buy whole and grind before eating. We are not able to digest the whole seed.
