Sugar rush — Artists, chocolatiers, musicians needed for Downtown Craig Art Walk, Taste of Chocolate Feb. 9
CRAIG — If you’ve got good taste, you can show it more ways than one during one of Craig’s biggest February events.
The 24th annual Art Walk and 13th annual Taste of Chocolate, hosted by Downtown Business Association, will pack the sidewalks of Yampa Avenue from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 9.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 1 for Taste of Chocolate, as local confectioners provide samples of a variety of chocolate items. Local artists will also be setting up shop, displaying their best materials for all to enjoy, while area musicians will serenade those making their way around the event.
Organizers are seeking people interested in showing their art at downtown venues, as well as people who want to provide chocolate.
Chocolatiers must be able to provide samples for enough patrons, with 125 tickets being sold.
Artists may display whatever medium they wish and also sell their art work at participating downtown Craig businesses.
Crowds at Art Walk and Taste of Chocolate will vote on both their favorite chocolate dish and, new this year, their favorite piece of art.
Registration to participate in the event is due by Feb. 1 to KS Kreations, 523 Yampa Ave.
Musicians looking to perform are asked to call Liane Davis-Kling at 970-824-5343.
For more information about registration rules and costs for artists, chocolatiers or business owners looking to host them, call Kandee Dilldine at 970-824-2151.
The Meeker Arts and Cultural Council Center Stage Youth Theatrical Group will conduct tryouts for “James and the Giant Peach, Jr.” at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at the Heritage Culture Center, 517 Park Ave, in Meeker.
