Students ready to participate in homecoming week activities
Homecoming begins today at Moffat County High School (MCHS). The week will have opportunities for students to show school spirit.
Float building takes place today through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. in preparation for the Homecoming Parade at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Face painting and body art for 50 cents will be offered all day today along with a junior varsity (JV) football game against Rawlins, Wyo., at 4 p.m.
Tuesday is Pajama Day. Students who dress up will be allowed to participate in the Pajama Jimmy dance during advisory. The final vote for homecoming royalty will also be held during advisory, strobe light volleyball will take place at 7 p.m. and freshman and JV volleyball players play in Hayden beginning at 4 p.m.
Wednesday is Whacky Whirl Day when all students are to wear tie-dye clothes. A pep rally will also be held Wednesday along with Bulldogs print painting on Finley Lane at 3:30 p.m.
Dress-up day will be Thursday with coronation and a special speaker during advisory. MCHS soccer will compete in Rifle at 6:30 p.m. and the homecoming volleyball game will be played at MCHS against Rifle at 6:30 p.m. At 9 p.m. a bon fire will be held across from MJK-Ace Hardware.
Friday is Show Your Spirit Day as blue and white colors are to be worn. The Homecoming Parade will be at 1:30 p.m. and the Bulldogs will take on Rifle in the homecoming football game at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday will be a day of athletic events with soccer in Glenwood at 1 p.m., cross-country in Aspen at 10 a.m. and freshmen football in Rifle at 11 a.m. The Homecoming Dance will finish off the week from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Emergency personnel responded to a motorcycle crash that sent a rider to the hospital Tuesday.
