Student achievement: Former Moffat County student heads to Ivy League university
Antone J. Le Blanc graduated summa cum laude with a 3.95 GPA from Scotlandville Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on May 14, 2014. He was offered scholarships at Tufts University at $250,720; Southern University A&M Honors College at $40,000; Delores Margaret Richard Spikes Honor College at $40,000; University of Wisconsin-Madison at $131,048; and Brown University at $243,936. He is also a TOPS recipient and received a $7,000 cash grant from the Baton Rouge Youth Coalition Organization, where he held the office of president for the past two years. Le Blanc will enroll in Brown University this fall and major in English composition. He is the son of former Craig resident Coreen Le Blanc, and the great-grandson of former residents Cal and Joyce Le Blanc. His grandparents are John and Jodi Pogline.
