Stephanie Pearce: Inspiration — That’s Important to me
Inspiration is something all of us need at times. I’m always looking for inspiration to help me be a better assistant, mother, and wife. When I’m searching for inspiration to be a better person, I don’t have to look far. In fact, I have two friends that pop right in mind for that sort of encouragement; Mo and Susan.
Mo is the kind of person who doesn’t want to be singled out and praised for all that she does because she doesn’t do it for the glory, she does it because she believes it’s the right thing to do. She does everything from her heart and that’s why she is such an inspiration to me. I have never heard her say a negative word about anyone or any project that she takes on. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother who knows how important family is. She works at the ranch and she volunteers for several non profits in town. She is happy to serve her community.
The thing I love most about Mo is how she builds people up. She is always paying someone a compliment and makes them feel so special. I watch Mo with my daughter and she’s always telling her how smart, beautiful, and talented she is. Mo tells Samantha she hopes her granddaughter grows up to be just like her. As she says this, in my heart, I’m hoping that Samantha grows up to be just like Mo.
Susan is another who just does whatever needs to be done. She is always on the go, but never complains either. She’s always doing something fun and inviting us to share in her experiences. If we can’t share, she let’s us live through her stories and pictures. She is so talented and enjoys sharing her talents with our community from putting on classes on weaving and cooking to volunteering.
I met Susan when she was my neighbor. My daughter used to run up to her house and visit with her while she worked in her garden. When Samantha would come home, she would always bring me a fresh cut bouquet of flowers from Susan. Those little moments shared with Samantha make me treasure Susan. Samantha learned so much from her in her garden. I wouldn’t be at all unhappy if Samantha grew up to be like Susan either.
These women are inspirations to me for giving of their time with willing hearts. They make people feel like they matter. When I spend time with them, I come away feeling so much better about myself. Being an inspiration like that to someone is important to me. I hope it’s important to you too.
