State Farm in Craig has a new leader who replaced the community’s beloved Bob Johnson.

Justin Stokes has become the lead insurance agent at State Farm located at 690 W. Victory Way. His first official day was Friday.

“I want to be known just like Bob,” Stokes said. “I want to be involved in the community. I want to help people out financially as well.”

Johnson died in March 2015, and the local State Farm agency has run without a lead agent for the past 12 months. Corporate State Farm helped the business run from remote locations.

Stokes recently moved to Craig from Twin Falls, Idaho, with his stay-at-home wife, Nichole, and their young two children, RaeLyn, who is almost 2, and Kingston, 1.

To take over Craig’s State Farm agency, Stokes had to train for nearly eight months, he said, noting that the business will remain in its current location on Victory Way.

Dee Johnson, Bob’s wife, owns the building still and will continue to rent it to Stokes, he said.

“It’s nice (to have someone in Bob’s place),” said Trenna Kaiser, who works at State Farm.
