Stanley Riskus

1916-2002
Stanley Riskus died April 22, 2002 in Craig. He was 85.
Riskus was born on Oct. 19, 2002, in Illinois to John and Zophey (Aalbert) Riskus. He was raised in Milner, Colo., and Steamboat Springs, Colo. before moving to Craig in 1971.
He married the late Marie Riskus on Sept. 5, 1970 in Hayden, Colo.
Riskus worked as a coal miner and was a member of the United Mine Workers. He enjoyed fishing.
Riskus is survived by his nieces, Karen Sarten of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Janet Falls, Placerville, Calif.; nephews, Gordon Riskus of Aiblene, Texas, Franklin Riskus of Rock Spring, Wyo., and John Riskus of Kapoa, Hawaii and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Riskus of Cedar City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie; brothers, John Joe and Pete; and niece, Yavonne Kawoaski.
Services were on Friday, April 26 at Grand Mortuary with Rod Compton officiating.
Final disposition was by cremation.
