What Christmas lunch at St. Michael’s Catholic Church was lacking in attendance, it made up for in laughter and love.

Three generations of the Bolton and Jarvis families served lunch, told jokes and shared smiles with everyone who came through the line.

Tehya Colvin, 14, and her mom, Alicia Colvin, also helped served, saying they had little else to do that day.

“It sounded nice to do, so we decided to come serve,” Tehya said.

“We did Christmas yesterday,” Alicia Colvin said. “We weren’t doing anything today, and I love people.”

Tehya said she liked meeting new people during her first time serving.

Greeting those who came in, Steve Tegtman said he thought people might not have been able to make to the lunch because of the weather.

Tegtman said there also were plenty of deliveries that went out that day, with ten to 20 boxes being delivered to homes.

“This is a good thing,” Tegtman said, deciding to help with lunch that day because his children were in California.

Kimberly Compagni, a Craig resident for 12 years, said she was thankful that the church put on the lunch because she doesn’t have family nearby.

“I’m very thankful. I’m glad we have this here,” Compagni said. “It’s a chance to meet nice new people.”
