Sports briefs: Star Shooter Camp starts Tuesday for $49

— Coach Steve Maneotis has announced that professional shooting coach Ryan Wolf will conduct the acclaimed Jay Wolf’s Star Shooter Camp on Tuesday. The day will be divided into two 3 1/2 hour sessions with grades fifth through 12th meeting from 8:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m.

Each participant will learn:

• Proper shooting technique.

• A free throw method that produces a 90 percent and better success rate.

• How to self-correct your shot. When a miss occurs, you can instantly know the reason and remedy.

• A proven practice method that develops all the skills needed to score consistently against any defense.

The fee for the camp is $49 and includes complete shooting instruction that covers all of the above goals and all three parts of the Star Shooter Program which includes a training video, practice manual and patented training aid.

Moffat County Young Life to sponsor golf

Moffat County Young Life will host a golf tournament Aug. 1 at Yampa Valley Golf Course.

The format is a four-person scramble, and the cost is $200 for a team, which includes cart fees.

Super Street Show Saturday in Hayden

On Saturday, the Hayden Speedway will host a Super Street Show. Tickets cost $8 for adults (13 and older), $3 for children 7 and older, and children 6 and younger are free.

Tickets can be purchased at the Speedway, 37900 County Road 53, Hayden.

Swimming complex to have reduced services

The Craig Swimming Complex will be hosting the Sea Sharks ABC Swim Meet on Friday through Sunday. The lap pool will be closed. The wave pool will be operating on a special schedule. The limit is 200 people for each three-hour session.

There will be a session from 1 to 4 p.m. each of the three afternoons and an evening session from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission will be on a first come, first serve basis.
