Sports Briefs: Local youths place in snocross event

Three Craig children placed in the International Series of Champions national snocross event Jan. 8 in Sandy, Utah.

Wesley Chapman won second place in the Junior 14 to 17 division, and Michelle Stoffle placed fifth in the same division. She was one of only two girls to compete in the event.

AJ Stoffle won first place in the Junior 10 to 13 division.

All three racers will compete next in the Wyman Winter Festival on Feb. 19 and 20 at Wyman Museum, 94350 E. U.S. Highway 40.

Wrestlers place in national events

On Jan. 1, the Bad Dogs youth wrestling team competed in the Rocky Mountain Nationals Who’s Bad tournament in Pueblo.

On Jan. 8, the team traveled to Heber City, Utah, to wrestle in the Tour of America Salt Lake Slam tournament.

Next up, the Bad Dogs will wrestle in the Utah Nationals Beehive Brawl on Jan. 21 and 22 in Richfield, Utah.
