Booster club meeting set for Friday

A meeting for a potential booster club to support Moffat County High School and Craig Middle School athletic and academic extracurricular activities will take place at 11:30 a.m. Friday.

The meeting will take place during the Commitment to Excellence meeting in the conference room of Mountain West Insurance and Financial Services, 100 E. Victory Way.

Anyone who is interested in helping to organize the club or helping in the future should attend.

Junior youth basketball registration deadline Jan. 12

Craig Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for kindergarten, first- and second-grade basketball teams.

Players will learn basic basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and playing as a team.

Games are played on weekdays during the early evening.

Boys will play Monday and Wednesday nights and girls will play Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Parent volunteers are needed to coach to make the program successful.

Registration is $30 per player and the deadline is Jan. 12.

Any registration turned in after Jan. 12 will be put on a waiting list.

The season will run from Feb. 13 to April 14.

Register for the 2012 Trailbusters

Trailbusters is now accepting registration for the 2012 season.

The program is put on by Craig Parks and Recreation and provides ski or snowboard lessons for youth 6 to 15 years old.

The program will take place Jan. 21 and 28 and Feb. 4, 11 and 25.

Registration is $295 with transportation provided. Lift tickets are $29 each day.

Ski and snowboard rentals are left up to the participant.

The deadline to register is Jan. 6.

Winter pick-up basketball at CMS

Craig Parks and Recreation’s winter pick-up basketball is currently taking place at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave.

The program is open to players 15 and older.

Games are semi-organized and take place from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.

Pre-registration is not required and the $2.50 fee can be paid to the gym supervisor at the door or a punch pass can be purchased.
