Sports Briefs for Nov. 14, 2011: Ski club open for registration

Craig Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for ski club.

Registration is $10 and open to everyone.

Members can receive $53 lift tickets on Saturdays in Steamboat Springs.



Regular tickets in Steamboat this year are $99 for adults, $85 for teens and $60 for children.

Lifeguard training begins Dec. 30

Craig Parks and Recreation is offering a Red Cross lifeguard training class to anyone interested in being a lifeguard.

The class will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 30 and Jan. 2 to 4 at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane.

Participants must be 15 years of age and be able to pass a pre-course swimming test.

The pre-course swimming test is at 7 p.m. Dec. 7.

The cost of the course is $125, and the deadline to register is Dec. 7.

Adult open gym starts Tuesday

Craig Parks and Recreation’s open gym nights return Tuesday.

The program is open to players 15 and older.

Pick-up games are 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave.

Pre-registration is not required, and fees can be paid to the gym supervisor at the door.

Games will not be played on Thanksgiving or during Christmas Break.
