Sports Briefs for March 19: Traveling baseball teams accepting registration

Traveling baseball teams accepting registration

Craig Youth Traveling Baseball is now accepting registration for the 2012 season.

Players age 8 to 14 can register and the organization is hoping to get a team for each age group.



Registration is $50 per player, which includes a hat and jersey.

The deadline to register is April 14 and practice begins April 16.



The teams will play in at least three tournaments with additional games possible.

Players will learn to be a team player, sportsmanship, the basics of the game, and how to have fun.

Registration now open for youth baseball

Craig Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for its summer youth baseball league.

The league is open to youth ages 8 to 15 with three divisions — 8 to 10, 11 and 12, and 13 to 15 year olds.

The 8- to 10-year-old division and the 11- and 12-year old division will travel to Hayden, Meeker and Rangely at least once during the season.

The 13- to 15-year-old division will have to travel to Rifle, Rawlins, Wyo., Hayden and Meeker at least once.

Registration is $50 and includes a hat and shirt.

Practice begins April 30 and games begin May 21.

T-ball, coach pitch, girls softball open for registration

Craig Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for T-ball, coach pitch and girls softball.

T-ball is for ages 5 and 6, coach pitch is for ages 7 and 8, and girls softball is for ages 8 to 18.

Registration is $30 and the deadline to register is March 28.

The season begins the week of May 7.
