Meeker to host Bob Tucker Memorial Golf Tournament
Registration is open for the fifth annual Bob Tucker Golf Tournament at Meeker Golf Course, 903 Moffat County Road 13.
Proceeds from the event, which takes place May 19, will go toward the Coach Bob Tucker Scholarship fund, given to a student athlete who demonstrates sportsmanship, integrity and character.
The cost is $80 per participant for the four-person scramble and includes greens fees, a cart, lunch and the chance to win prizes given out to men and women for the longest drive and closest to the pin.
A “lunch only” option is $15 and requires a separate RSVP.
There is also a $5,000 prize for a hole-in-one.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the shotgun start is at 9:30.

Parks & Recreation offers youth tennis classes in June
Registration is open for Craig Parks & Recreation’s Tennis Sessions 1 and 2.
Session 1 is available for boys and girls ages 10 to 12 wanting to pick up the sport.
Session 2 is for ages 8 and 9.
The fee is $30 per child and participants will need to supply their own racquet and wear appropriate, non-marking tennis shoes.
Classes will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at the Lincoln Street courts from June 4 to 28.
Class capacity is limited and the deadline for registration is May 16. For more information, call 826-2004.
Umpires needed for summer games
Craig Parks & Recreation is seeking applicants to serve as umpires for Craig Youth Baseball.
Pay for the position ranges from $16 to $28 per game.
Coach pitch and girls softball also require umpires for the season.
Anyone applying must be at 14 years old and have a basic knowledge of the game.
Certification classes will be available before the season begins.
