Sports Briefs for April 14: MCHS girls golf results from Tuesday, Wednesday tournaments

Sports briefs for April 14.

The Moffat County High School girls varsity golf team competed Tuesday and Wednesday in Montrose, first at Black Canyon Golf Course and then at The Bridges Golf Course.

On Tuesday at Black Canyon, senior Sam Fox led the way for the Bulldogs, taking seventh place with a score of 94.

Sophomore Caitlin Harjes took second on the team with a 105.

On Wednesday at The Bridges Golf Course, the Bulldogs formed two, three-player scramble teams.

The first team, made up of Fox, Harjes and freshman Katie Rice, took first place out of eight teams with a 70.

Junior Alex Bulla, sophomore Shianna Dockins and freshman Katelyn Peroulis made up the second team, taking seventh with a 91.

Head coach Ann Marie Roberts said MCHS was the only school with three-player teams, with the rest forming four-person squads.

“Everyone was having fun and scrambles are always a great time,” she said. “Sam, Caitlin and Katie all worked really good together and they helped each other out when needed.”

The following are each golfer’s scores from Tuesday’s tournament:
