Sports briefs: Demolition Derby scheduled for tonight was canceled

The demolition derby, which was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today as part of the 91st annual Moffat County Fair, has been canceled.

Other events, including the Wiener Dog Races at 5:30 p.m. tonight, will go on as scheduled.

High school football to start Monday

Moffat County High School football will start its fall camp at 6 p.m. Monday at MCHS, 900 Finley Lane.

Craig Youth Hockey meetings scheduled

Craig Youth Hockey will have an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 17, at the Holiday Inn, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

The meeting is for players and parents of midget-age hockey players (born between 1991 and 1994).

There also will be a Youth Hockey monthly board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Holiday Inn.

At 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24, Youth Hockey will have its fall membership meeting at the Holiday Inn.

Anyone interested in playing youth hockey is encouraged to attend. Call Debbie Tomlin at 824-1717 or Betta Boatright at 824-2046.
