Sports Briefs: American Poolplayers Association finishes season

The Yampa Valley American Poolplayers Association completed its 16-week season, and winners in five divisions have been crowned.

No Whining won the Kachina 8-Ball Division, winning 46 matches. Rawhide took second with 40 matches won and Long Strokers took third with 30 matches won.

In the Tatonka 8-Ball DJ Division, Flusterclucks won 45 matches to take first place. Rock Out w/Your Chalk Out took second with 42 matches won, and Joe Mama took third with 41 matches won.

Sherry’s Team and Bill’s Team won 41 matches each to share first place in the Lakota 8-Ball Division. Bert’s Team took third, winning 36 matches.

With 45 matches won, Easy Eights took home first place in the Chiricahua 8-Ball Division. Zack’s Team was one match behind with 44, finishing second. CMG Ballbusters won 35 matches for third place.

Finally, in the Tomahawk 9-Ball DJ Division, Rock Out w/Your Chalk Out took home first place with 836 points won. NGNG won 833 points for second place and Flusterclucks won 823 points for third place.

The Yampa Valley APA will be starting its 16-week spring season on Jan. 6. Matches played in Moffat County are played at Mathers’ Lounge & Café, 420 Yampa Ave.

Ski Club offering discount lift tickets

Craig Parks and Recreation has begun registration for Ski Club.

Ski Club offers Craig residents the opportunity to ski and snowboard in Steamboat Springs at a reduced rate on Saturdays for the rest of the season. For a one-time $10 fee to join, Ski Club members can get lift tickets for $51 for Saturday ski sessions in Steamboat. The price is a flat rate for all ages.

Regular lift ticket prices for the season are $97 for adults, $83 for teens and $59 for children.
