Sports briefs: 6-and-younger results from Yampa River Junior Classic

For the boys six-and-younger division during Tuesday’s Yampa River Junior Classic golf tournament, Kale Beckett finished first with 24, Ethan Hafey was second with a 34 and Logan Hafey was third with a 39.

For the girls six-and-younger division, Halle Hamilton shot a 27, and Reagan Hafey shot a 39.

The golfers played three holes during the youth tournament at Yampa Valley Golf Course.

United Rebel Sprint Series is at 7 p.m. today

The United Rebel Sprint Series will be at 7 p.m. today at the Hayden Speedway.

Tickets cost $8 for adults 13 and older, $3 for children seven and older, and children six and younger get in free.

Tickets can be purchased at the speedway, 37900 Routt County Road 53.

Rally for the Cure Golf Event at 9 a.m. Aug. 12

The 10th annual Rally for the Cure Golf Event is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 12 at Yampa Valley Golf Course, 2179 Highway 394.

The cost is $40, which includes lunch, prizes, gifts and a Golf Digest magazine subscription. The cost does not cover green fees or cart.

All ladies are welcome and encouraged to wear pink. The money raised from the event will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Moffat County Cancer Society.

Parents, meet coaches at MCHS on Aug. 13

There will be an informational parents meeting and meet the coach night at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at Moffat County High School.

It will be an opportunity for any student athletes wanting to participate in the fall sports season to ask questions and to make sure that all necessary paperwork has been filled out and fees have been paid.

Equipment check out for Doak Walker Football

Players in the Craig Parks and Recreation Doak Walker Football league can check out equipment for the upcoming season at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Craig City Hall, 300 E. Fourth St.

Coaching assignments and rosters also will be dispersed.

Tickets for Rampage in the Cage are on sale

Tickets for the upcoming Rampage in the Cage fights are available at Holistic Health & Fitness, 420 Breeze St.

Tickets cost $25, if bought in advance, and $35 at the door.

Front-row seats cost $50, regardless of when they are purchased.

The fights, which are scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 8, will feature mixed martial artists from Craig and other locations across the Western Slope.

The fights will be at the Moffat County Ice Arena, 600 S. Ranney St.
