Seventh graders give up one touchdown all season
Domination may be an understatement to describe Craig Middle School’s seventh-grade A football team’s season.
The Bulldogs completed their undefeated season with a 26-0 win against Steamboat Springs Saturday.
In eight games, the Craig Middle School seventh graders allowed one touchdown. The touchdown came after a turnover inside their 10-yard line.
“With the competition we played, our lines and running game was much better,” coach Mike LeWarne said. “It was a good season and they learned a lot.”
The closest game for the team was a 16-0 win against Rangely.
The undefeated season was the fifth consecutive for seventh-grade squads with the last loss coming when the current seniors were in seventh grade.
“We generally have a lot more talent,” LeWarne said. “This year was no exception with a good class of athletes.”
