Senior Spotlight for Oct. 6, 2009

Mary Jo Brown

Time has come for me to tell myself to bring out the heavier outerwear and make sure they are ready to go forth and brace the elements.

So, one day I got all set and started out on a sunny and cool day. It’s too hot for a jacket, so I take it off, and leave it in the car. I come out of the store, and with the wind it must be 40 below where it’s coming from.

Yep, it’s good ol’ Colorado weather.

Also good are birthdays.

I have birthdays for John McEntee, Jim Fuller, Jennifer Rose Miller, Diane Malone and Louis McKenna.

Get well/speedy recovery to Roy Southard, Neil Folks, Teresa Rendon, Rose Gomez, Keith Keller and Margaret Gray.

The AARP driver’s safety program will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at Sunset Meadows I in the recreation room. The sign-up sheet is at Sunset Meadows I. The course costs $12 if you’re an AARP member, and $15 if you’re not a member.

Bring proof of membership and a driver’s license.

For more information, call Bev Chapman at 824-5123, or to sign up. The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I.

Bingo will follow.
