Senior Spotlight for July 28, 2009

Mary Jo Brown

Music is an important part of life.

My mood sometimes change because of it. I was feeling down in the dumps Saturday and then played some CDs.

One of my favorites is Jim Nabors. I also did variety musical shows and others.

I know the newer-type music is what is in now. It’s OK, every generation has its favorite type or style.

To me, though, I’ll take Neil Diamond and old-style country music and sit back and enjoy.

When you’re feeling blue, just sing, hum or whistle a happy tune. It works for me.

So do birthdays.

Happy birthday to Kirby Barber, Janna Thompson, Marilyn McKinney, Frances Chisholm, Dorothy Osborne and Donna Adrian.

A get well/speedy recovery to Twila Holmes, Don Valdez, Mina Pauls and Randy and Courtney Castro.

Just a couple reminders, Disability Awareness Day is Friday in the Northwest Colorado area, and the Moffat County Fair takes places Aug. 1 to 8.

As always, there’s an open potluck at noon Friday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.

See you there.
