Senior Spotlight for July 16, 2012
I had a pleasant surprise this past week.
Three of my great-grandchildren came to visit: Sarah from Alabama, and Airoughan and Maddysn from Cortez. The came with with their father, and they celebrated their birthdays.
Sarah will be going back to Alabama to start school soon. School there starts earlier than it does here in Colorado.
I am thankful every day for the family that I have because we have lost several young and old ones.
I am selling cookbooks that include recipes written by women who live in Craig who belong to Sparks of Hope with Relay for Life. The cookbooks are $10 each and all proceeds help people who are in need, the survivors of cancer, or the families of someone lost to cancer.
Call me at 824-2139 if you’re interested.
Craig’s Relay for Life will be Friday and Saturday. Money will be turned in July 23.
For more information, call me.
I have happy birthday wishes for Twanette Ayres, Iris Owens, Zachariah Tabor and Mary Sue Herald.
Get well/speedy recovery wishes to Dolores St. Louis, Bill McDonald, Betty Herrera, Matilda Gallegos, Celeste Starling and Theresa Rendon.
The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. The AARP meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. July 23, also at Sunset Meadows I, and the Independent Life Center will meet at 1:30 p.m. July 23 at the same location.
