Senior Spotlight for Feb. 13, 2012

We have Valentine’s Day this week.

Roses, candy and cards remind us of the reason for the day and help us let someone special know we love them.

Like Christmas, I believe we shouldn’t just come out and express our feelings on certain days — we should express our feelings every day.

No, we don’t need to go buy something every day to express how we feel. A hug, smile, more consideration toward each other and small acts of kindness do the job just fine.

Now, especially when times are harder, we need to not expect to receive material gifts as much as we used to.

Love is expressed in many ways, true, but unconditional love is best.

Have a very good Valentine’s Day.

Happy birthday to Mary Ann Harrington, Laura Swanson, Shirley Nelson, Randolph McFarland and Doris Riemann.

Get well/speedy recovery to all of you in the hospital and at home, etc. May Valentine’s Day bring you pleasant memories and surprises.

The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. There will be no meal or bus service Monday at Sunset Meadows I due to President’s Day.

News is always welcome. Call me at 824-2139.
