Senior spotlight for Dec. 26, 2011

The year is winding down to a few days of remembering and getting ready for the New Year’s celebration.

Should we talk about what we got for Christmas, or talk about New Year’s resolutions?

Maybe those went out the door with the Christmas trees, wrapping, etc.?

Well, whatever.

In my case, I made a resolution last time not to make any more resolutions.

Breaking a resolution is not good. It’s a promise not kept, even if it’s only for your self-improvement, or not doing or doing something.

I keep my resolutions in my heart and mind and work on trying to do them to the best of my ability.

Sometimes I feel I’m not getting there, but I keep trying and I thank the Lord every day I’m able to do whatever I get done.

Celebrate the New Year and have a very good year all year long. Go at it day by day.

Happy birthday to Haley Belin Van Grandt, Robert McKinney and Tony Gallegos.

Get well/speedy recovery to Tony Grajeda, Linda Sandoval, Wanda Dorland, Theresa Rendon, Clara Abeyta and anyone else recovering at home or someplace else, or just feeling blah, etc. Thinking of you and I’ll keep you in my prayers.

No meals or bus services at Sunset Meadows I today or Tuesday due to the Christmas holiday.

The McDonald’s senior breakfast is Wednesday.

No meal or bus service at Sunset Meadows I on Jan. 2 due to the New Year’s holiday.

There will be no noon potluck Friday at Sunset Meadows I.

Thanks, and have a great holiday this week.
