Senior Spotlight for August 1, 2011

Happy Colorado Day. I always make sure to remember this day.

It was something I was taught at a small country school.

I was born in Denver and raised in various places around the state, mostly around Summit County. But during one year, I spent time at a farm close to Greeley, and they raised food for the troops during World War II.

The teacher specified how special we were because we were helping our country.

Yep, Colorado raised, Colorado grown up.

I’m sure others helped also. But, as a kid I felt very proud about living in Colorado, and I still am proud.

Happy birthday this week to Thea Bowlds, Beverly Higgins and Donna Adrian.

Get well/speedy recovery to Ron Moran, Phyllis Varela, Rose Razzano, Gene Murphy and Carlo Fresquez.

The Sunset Meadows I potluck is noon Friday.

The Moffat County Fair starts with 4-H projects, then an Aug. 6 open horse show at 8 a.m., and then a barbecue and dessert cookoff with a dance to follow at 5 p.m.

I have to get my stuff ready for the open class later.

News is always welcome.
