Senior Spotlight for April 8, 2013
The weather is keeping me guessing as to whether I need a jacket, rain coat or something else. Usually I end up wearing a light one, or at least taking it with me. Having lived in Colorado all my life, I know better than to take the weather for granted, especially in the spring when a late snowstorm could be on the horizon.
I enjoy the rain, and the yards are looking better and just a tad greener already. You can see people around clearing and cleaning up yards, and I bet there are some who are anxious to get their gardens planted. The April showers also bring May flowers, so it is said, but there are signs of crocus and tulips early on.
There also is a sign that says pre-registration for the annual Health Fair blood draw is from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Meadows 2. The actual senior blood draw is April 18 at Sunset Meadows, and unless you are a diabetic you will need to fast for the draw. The Health Fair is April 20 at The Memorial Hospital. For more information, call the hospital.
Happy birthday wishes to Bryan Phillips, Bob Gilbert and Jim Compostine.
Get-well wishes to Bea Moe, Mary Garcia and Derek Murata.
Don’t forget the potluck at noon Friday at Sunset Meadows 1. See you there.

This year, a handful of Moffat County High School graduates are setting out to carry on the family tradition. From business to education, these students plan to follow in the footsteps their parents and in some cases, grandparents and great-grandparents.
