There was an American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) picnic Aug. 23 at the City Park.

The angel of the month is Mary Jo Brown’s dad, Steve Gallegos. He was 93 on Aug. 28.

Lunch out Saturday was at the Holiday Inn. There was also a pizza party Aug. 26. Those who attended were: Mae Kettle, May McIntyre, Clysta Carey, Joy Nylander, Edna Dowdy, Thelma Sanders, Imogene Kiever, Billie Young, Lusetta Dowling, Ruth Boggs, Berniece Finley, Willie Daniels, Rosetta Harper, Bea Peck, Nellie Clapp and Mary Jo Brown.
