Sen. Baumgardner hears from Craig constituents

Colorado State Sen. Randy Baumgardner, R-Hot Sulphur Springs, paid a visit to Craig Thursday to provide his constituents with a legislative update.
“There’s no goal here, know what I mean?” He explained about the meeting’s agenda. “These people asked me to come over and speak to them, give them a legislative update.”
And that is exactly what Baumgardner did. After a brief introduction, he spent the rest of the meeting, which was hosted by Bears Ears Tea Party Patriots, taking questions from attendees and doing his best to provide answers.
Baumgardner was elected to the Colorado Senate in 2012 and served as the State Senate Majority Whip in 2015. He represents District Eight, which encompasses Garfield, Grand, Jackson, Moffat, Rio Blanco, Routt, and Summit Counties.
“We appreciate him coming out. Not many politicians will come to a town hall style meeting anymore,” said Matt Winey of Bears Ears Patriots. “When Randy comes and talks to us it’s good to hear from someone that’s like-minded as the people in Moffat County. I just think he knows where we’re coming from and what we’re going through.”
