Seismograph company hosting Q&A session in Craig

A company looking to conduct seismic exploration of the area has organized a question and answer session for interested landowners.

Geokinetics, a Texas-based company, is proposing a seismic survey of about 53 square miles to look for oil and gas in the Craig and Moffat County area.

Due to numerous questions and interest about the project, Geokinetics is hosting a meeting today to address landowners’ concerns.

The meeting is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. in the Colorado room of the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

The city of Craig is within the proposed survey area and the company has sent letters to specific landowners asking for their permission to conduct the survey on their land.

Geokinetics hopes to have the project completed by the end of March.
