School board to talk budget, including mill levy override, during work session

A work session is slated for 4 p.m. Thursday, and a meeting follows at 6 p.m.

— The Moffat County Board of Education meets at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the board room of the administration building for a work session with budget discussion on the agenda. Among the budget-related items listed are a negotiation proposal from the district’s Interest Based Strategies team, a mill levy override discussion and a “collaborative conversation regarding (the) administrative (budget) recommendation.”

Consideration of a four-day calendar for Maybell Elementary School is also listed on the agenda.

Following the work session is a regular meeting at 6 p.m. with action items that include approval of a contract with Morris Ververs and the four-day calendar for Maybell Elementary School. During a special meeting last week, the board voted to enter into an agreement with Ververs as an independent contractor consultant.
