School board considers possible graduation dates
Craig — Although an official date has not been set, it looks as if Moffat County High School Seniors will be graduating on May 21, 2000. During the Moffat County School District Board of Education meeting held Monday evening, Moffat County High School Principal Joel Sheridan brought to the board four different dates: May 20, 21, 23 and 27.
After a discussion, May 21 was deemed to be the best date, although it is not set in stone quite yet. Problems with the other dates included athletic state tournaments, family vacations and too much time between the last day of school and the actual graduation.
May 21 did bring upon some conflict. With the day falling on a Sunday, Principal Sheridan was asked to check with local ministries to confirm a time that would work throughout the community.
Ironic that this story comes out the day school starts, isn’t it. And I thought I was always in a hurry!
