Sari Maneotis
Sari Maneotis from the Craig Sea Sharks Swim Club was awarded the 2005 Scottie Aschermann Memorial Scholarship.
She shares this award with Karen Pozzi from Rockrimmon Swim Team in Colorado Springs. Each of the scholar athletes will receive $500.
This scholarship is given in honor and memory of a woman who gave many years of her life as a volunteer for Colorado swimming. Aschermann spent years promoting swimming and swimmers, with most of her energy being spent with the summer club teams and high school swimming.
Sari swam for nine summers and was an assistant coach this past summer. She also swam on the high school team all four years. She has accumulated numerous awards, pool records, trips to state and a trip to the Junior Olympics during summer club. She is attending Colorado State University, where she is interested in psychology and pre-med, and is interested in getting involved in club water polo and swimming in a master’s program.
