S.V. Beckett: After reading about it, I can’t support C and D

To the editor:

After reading the booklet on the C and D measures, I feel very strongly that I cannot support either one.

If the experts are right on the amount of refund in the five years being $3.7 billion, then why do they need to borrow another $2 billion on top of that?

If that is to get us going, so to speak, then why do they need to take as much as $100 million a year after the five-year period?

To me, this is not about education, health care or roads, it is an attempt to do away with the Tabor Amendment.

Any refund kept by the state is a tax increase.
